§ 15. MARSHAL'S DUTIES.
That it shall be the duty of the marshal of said town to attend the mayor's court and execute all processes issued by the mayor, and to diligently perform all the duties required of him by this act, or the ordinances, rules, and regulations of the mayor and aldermen passed in pursuance thereof; he shall use his utmost endeavor to prevent and suppress all breaches of the peace in said town, and quell and suppress any rioting or improper disturbances, or any indecent or disorderly conduct therein; and it shall be his duty at any and all times to arrest and take before the mayor for examination any and all persons who shall be found guilty of violating any of the provisions of this act, or any of the ordinances, rules, or regulations passed in pursuance thereof; and said marshal shall be assessor, tax collector, and jailer for said town.
