§ 71. OFFICE OF CLERK CREATED; TAX COLLECTOR.

That there is hereby created the office of clerk for this municipality and the clerk so provided for shall perform all the duties legally required of the clerk of the mayor and board of aldermen under the laws of this municipality in force at the time of the adoption of this ordinance and in addition thereto the clerk here provided for shall also be the tax collector for this municipality and shall collect all special assessments for local improvements and water rents and he shall also perform such other duties as may be legally required of him by such orders, ordinances, or resolutions as the mayor and board of aldermen may hereafter legally adopt from time to time.
