§ 75. PERFORMANCE OF TAX COLLECTOR'S DUTIES.

  • That all the power and authority vested in the marshal of this municipality "as tax collector" under the laws of this municipality in force at the time of the adoption of this ordinance are hereby diverted out of the marshal of this municipality and invested in the clerk of this municipality "as tax collector" in fullness and completeness in all respects, and wherever the charter of this municipality as amended, and in the ordinances, orders and resolutions of this municipality legally in force at the time of the adoption of this ordinance the marshal "as tax collector" is empowered or authorized to do any act or thing whatever in or about the collection of taxes the same shall be construed by all the courts of this state as authorizing and empowering the clerk of this municipality "as tax collector" to do and perform all such acts and things whatever and with like effect, in all respects, and to this end, in such cases, only, the word "marshal" shall be construed to mean "clerk."
