§ 2-115. Oath.
(a)
Before entering upon the discharge of their duties, all of the officers elected or appointed for this city shall take and subscribe an oath in form substantially as follows:
"I, ____________ , do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States and of the State of Mississippi, and obey the laws thereof, and that I am not disqualified from holding office under the Constitution of the United States, or of the Constitution and Laws of the State of Mississippi, or Charter and ordinances of the City of Indianola, and that I will obey the Charter and Laws of the City of Indianola, and faithfully discharge the duties of the office, upon which I am about to enter, so help me God."
(b)
This oath shall be filed and preserved by the clerk of the mayor and board of aldermen as a record in his office.
